Reminder from the Universe

Last week as I felt rushed to get to an appointment on time, it seemed that every obstacle that could get in my way- did…red lights, extremely slow drivers, construction delays…

I found myself getting agitated and impatient—until a very long tractor trailor truck made a sudden left hand turn in front of me that almost put me at a dead stop! All of a sudden I realized that the universe was trying to remind me of a very strong message I received last year:

This message first came to me as I was listening to England’s Next Top Coach, Christian Pankhurst, in his workshop on how to open your heart. (, Christian is a young, amazing, “old soul” who has a gift of teaching people how to be authentic and heart centered.  To slow down  was one of the many aha’s I received through his lessons —to be more mindful of each moment.

So I started  intentionally doing so, as often as I could remember to, and found that as I applied this to my driving, I was no longer getting frustrated by other drivers. I even found myself waving at them on long trips as they sped past me.

Funny- all these years I wanted others to change the way they drove and all along I just needed to change the way I did.

And to add to my amazement, by staying at the speed limit, I actually find that I get to my destinations in less time then I used to !

Thank you Universe- May I never need a tractor trailer to pull out  in front of me again to remind  me to  slow down.

  3. Lyna, I love the aha moment. As a fellow follower of Christian Pankhurst I completely identify with your new take on life. Me too, mine was all about resistance, but now I’m learning to recognise that and be more mellow.
