Ever since I was a young girl, I’ve been hearing concerns about the year 2012-the end of the Mayan Calendar.
Some believe it will be the end of the world–the armegedden, spaceships coming to take us or the take over by the illuminati….
2012 is now upon us and I for one, can feel a big Shift is indeed taking place. But one that is not to be feared. A shift within our core—our hearts are waking up….
For example-Occupy Wallstreet. After years of grumbling about the government and big business causing the decline of the middle class in America, people are finally standing together to speak out. Now that the down spiral of the economy has left many homeless and struggling, it has also made us realize that we need to work together in community to pick up the pieces and make positive changes for the good of all.
More solopreneurs and small businesses are taking the socialpreneuership role. They want to give back and make a difference to the world. They are passionate about a cause and as their business grows, it makes available more resources to support the cause. Just today I came upon www.virginunite.com. This is Richard Branson’s website where he talks about socialpreneurship and shows how we can be involved.
This week I went to a networking lunch. I’ve attended these before in previous years, but this time, there was a different energy. I soon realized that as each individual stood up to talk about their business, they took time to give testimonials about someone else’s business. And many of them are starting to talk about giving portions of their profits to causes they believe in.
So, I believe that 2012 will bring about major shifts in how we serve the world and each other. And each day I am thrilled to see more hearts open to the possibilities ……
What are your thoughts?

I agree Lyna and hope 2012 is the end of the world as we know it. We have reached a point when we are no longer totally consumed by the need to survive (but we must acknowledge, not everyone is at this point yet) and our hearts and minds are free to turn outward to other things. I think that there has never been a point in history where this could have happened. The Internet has made this possible. We can reach out to like minded people all over the globe. We no longer need to feel alone and isolated, and we are realising our power. The power of the people!
And yet, at the same time, there are people every where, trying to drag us backwards. I never thought to see, after working so hard myself for equality, women losing ground all over the world. I’m very excited but a little scared too.

So true- the internet has been a great tool to help unite people who are ready to make a difference….
Thank you for reading and adding your thoughts.
As a Decorative Artist I have always tried my best to give back…expecially to the Decorative Artist community. I believe that 2012 will bring great things for all fields. We all need to keep an open mine and an open heart!

You have one of the biggest hearts I’ve known…very caring, very sharing…a true inspiration.
Thank you for responding….
I too hope 2012 is the end of the world as we know it. Honestly, I don’t feel it, I see so much greed and hatred out there. Yes, I probably watch too much news. But I believe in change and surprises, and it helps to see so many wonderful people here in Asheville that make it happen.
Cindy
You are one of those wonderful people who are making it happen….
FYI- I stopped listening to the news about 13 years ago—and it helps my attitude immensely!
So great to see this, Lyna! I agree wholeheartedly, there’s more talk of giving out there, and I’m delighted. I feel a little trepidation about the upcoming election year (I don’t mind if people disagree with each other, I just wish they would do it with respect and civility!), but I think the pendulum will start swinging back toward cooperation.
Looking forward to reading your posts this year, Lyna – I like how you look at undercurrents, and your thoughtful insights! A real find.

Thank you Lisa
I’ve been saying for years that my political stance is “I choose Love”.
…and I am hearing more and more people share that view.
I’m a strong believer that
if we keep heart centered , there is no room for fear…and goodness always wins out.
May seem fru-fru, but has always worked for me!
